Sony has announced 4 models of surround home theater systems to be released over the coming months featuring wavefront control technology, NFC and Bluetooth.

The acoustic technology built into the new sound systems can deliver powerful and balanced sound over a large listening area.

Sony says that as large screen TV technology has advanced greatly recently, the demands for high-quality sound and home theater that will complement these TVs has grown with it.

The units use Bluetooth and NFC (Near Field Communication) so controlling and passing data and one-touch listening can be easily accomplished from smart devices.

The 2 “bar type” speaker units – “HT-ST7” (7.1ch, 450W) and “HT-ST3” (4.2ch, 180W), have been developed to faithfully reproduce sound effects, spoken lines, and music as intended by the movie and programming creators.  This was assisted through cooperation with Sony Pictures Entertainment to properly calibrate movie sound elements.

The units employ “S-Force PRO Front Surround” to utilise the wavefront control technology and manage a wide range of sounds, delivering surround sound faithfully to rooms of any shape.

Also, both units feature 4K interaction capability.

The “BDV-N1WL” (5.1ch, 800W) and “BDV-EF1” (2.1ch, 150W) units, combine CD, DVD, Blu-ray disc, FM tuner, internet capabilities, and employ the same advance in acoustic technology.
